We start by saying that unfortunately, there is no video of what Stephan Jaeger did on his final hole on Friday at the Web.com Tour's Rust-Oleum Championship. But it did, in fact, happen. Here's proof:
Yep, that's an eagle with a penalty stroke -- and a lost ball in the water -- on the 542-yard par 5 at the Ivanhoe Club. Here's what Jaeger had to say about it after.
“Well, to be honest, I wasn’t happy with the tee shot obviously, but dropped on a good number like 218. I hit this draw, 5-iron, just hoping for anywhere on the green, but it started looking really good,” said Jaeger, who shot 69 and heads into the weekend T-16. “I walked after it and after like 10 yards it disappeared and the crowd went nuts! And then I went nuts! Great feeling, finishing a round on a high note like that.”
Again, it's unfortunate there's no video. But we believe you, Stephan.
