Even in the heat of competition, Jordan Spieth gives his adversary a thumbs-up

HAVEN, Wis. -- For Jordan Spieth to have any shot at the Wanamaker Trophy late on Sunday, he needed Jason Day to mess up the 17th hole something fierce.

So when Spieth saw Day lag his longggggggg birdie attempt to inches of the hole, he had to know his chance at a win was kaput.

That didn't stop Spieth from acknowledging Day's efforts:
