Can't wait to read his blog

PEBBLE BEACH -- No, that was not the newest member of the golf media huddled with the assorted scribes along the 18th hole at Pebble Beach Friday. As far as we know, Herm Edwards, the former head coach of the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs, plans to limit his professional commentary to football.

But Edwards, who had scored an inside-the-ropes armband from his employers at ESPN, was still a captivated observer watching Lee Westwood survey a buried lie in a fairway bunker. After Westwood took an unplayable lie and dropped in the sand, Edwards cracked, "It's still better than getting tackled."

When Westwood's iron out of the sand took flight down the fairway, Edwards shook his head. "Man, it makes just a little bit of a different sound than when we hit it, doesn't it?"
