Wave Your Flag
When they announced golf was back in the Olympics, I wasn’t close to qualifying. It motivated me to play my best and make the team. The last golfer to win the gold medal was a Canadian, George Lyon. So it’d be super cool to bring the gold back home.
Athletic Genes
I gave up hockey when I was 12. I was a goalie like my dad, who played in college. I’m not sure if playing hockey has helped me in golf. But I take a rip at the ball like a slap shot!
Driver
Specs: Ping G (9˚), Ping TFC 419 shaft, S-flex, 48 inches, D-8 swingweight. For me, it’s all about generating speed. Last year, I switched to a 48-inch shaft—longer than most—which has given me a ton of extra distance.
Fairway Woods
Specs: Ping G Stretch 3 (13˚, Ping Alta shaft, S-flex, 43.5 inches, D-5 swingweight), Ping G30 (18˚, Ping TFC-419 shaft, S-flex, 41.5 inches). When I need to reach a par 5 in two, I go to this longer-length 3-wood.
Hybrid
Specs: Ping G30 (22˚), Fujikura Pro 73TS shaft. I use this club a lot on long par 3s, a long par 4 or even par 5s. It sets up nice and cuts through the turf.
Irons
Specs: 5-iron through pitching wedge: Ping i, Ping CFS shafts, S-flex, Ping ID8 grips. My lie angles are 2.25˚ flat in my irons and my wedges. I’ve found this combo matches my swing and lets me make consistent contact. I didn’t think about lie angles until I got on tour. Maybe it’s worth checking yours, too.
Wedges
Specs: Ping Glide, 50˚, 54˚, 58˚, Ping CFS shafts, cut a half-inch. I love a lot of colors and staying flashy. So Ping repainted every iron and wedge a different color. It’s just a way to have some fun with my bag. My short game is an area I’ve focused on this year, so these clubs have been getting a lot of use this season!
Specs: Ping Vault Oslo putter, 33.5 inches, 3˚ loft, 23˚ lie, SuperStroke GT pistol grip. I switched to this Ping Vault Oslo at the KPMG PGA. I love the paint fill, which fits the fun colors of my irons, too. I went to a putter half an inch longer than standard last year, which has helped me smooth out my stroke.
Put A smile On
If you see me on tour, I’m usually smiling. But more important, I enjoy making others smile, which is why my autograph has a smile!
Sister, Sister
Growing up, I idolized my older sister, Brittany, so it’s great to have her caddie for me. She also plays professionally, so I’ll carry her bag, too. We know each other better than anyone.
Batter Up!
I’ve done some cool things on the LPGA Tour the past two years. Throwing the first pitch at a Phillies game was one of my favorites.
Jamming Out
I love country music. Reba McEntire, George Strait and Thomas Rhett (pictured) are my favorites.
The Great One
Getting a phone call from Wayne Gretzky after my win last year was such a treat. As a former hockey player, it meant a lot!
