DRIVERSPECS Titleist 917D3, 10.5 degrees, Graphite Design Tour AD MT-6 shaft, 45 inches▶ I’ve played this shaft model since I was in college at UCLA. That’s true of my entire bag: If I find something, I stick with it. When I’m testing drivers, I look at accuracy more than distance. I don’t care about losing a few yards if it means I’m hitting more fairways.

FAIRWAY WOOD/HYBRIDSPECS: Fairway wood: Titleist 917F3, 15 degrees, Graphite Design Tour AD MT-7 shaft Hybrid: Titleist 816H1, 21 degrees, Mitsubishi Diamana Blue 70 shaft▶ I carry only one wood and one hybrid because I really like to hit irons. More players are taking long irons out of their bags, even out here on tour. But I like the workability of irons too much to replace them with woods or hybrids. Still, my 3-wood is my caddie’s favorite club of mine in the bag.

IRONSSPECS Titleist 716 CB (4-PW), Project X 5.0 shaſts, Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 grips▶ You’ll notice these aren’t the newest model. I’ve played a forged cavity-back like this for the past four years. I don’t like to change if things are going well. If the numbers are a lot better, I’ll change. But I have to see a big difference in accuracy and distance.

WEDGESSPECS Titleist Vokey Design SM7: 50° (Project X 5.0 shaft), 54° (True Temper Dynamic Gold R300 shaft), 60° (Dynamic Gold R300 shaft)▶ Wedges are the one thing in my bag I always update. I can’t stress enough the need to have fresh grooves. I match the shaft on my 50-degree gap wedge to my iron shafts because it’s mostly a full-swing club.

PUTTERSPECS Titleist Scotty Cameron Select Newport prototype, 33 inches▶ Last year I putted the worst I’ve ever putted so I spent a whole week testing putters in Arizona. I started with this at Kingsmill in 2018 and loved how the ball rolled end over end. It’s been in my bag since. I came back to Kingsmill this year and won with it.

LOOKS THAT KILL▶ I got this Scotty Cameron “Motley Crew” putter cover because I love the Mötley Crüe movie, “The Dirt.” I have dozens of these cool headcovers. One had dollar signs all over it. That was probably my favorite. I retire them when the Velcro goes.

SPIN CONTROL▶ I like the Pro V1x because it helps lower my usually high spin numbers.

THAT’S BANANAS▶ We always have four bananas in the bag, at least. My caddie, Jeff Brighton, and I have two each, one on the front, one on the back. He has to check with me as to which ones he can have. I don’t like them with bruises, and if they’re too green, it’s not good, either. We end up talking about the bananas for half the round.
