1955: TEAM USA PREPARES TO PARTY POOLSIDE
Two years after notoriously chilly matches in Surrey, England, Team USA welcomed warmer temperatures at the 1955 matches in Palm Springs by designing a hybrid sport coat/swim thong.
1979: TOM KITE SUGGESTS A MINIMALIST'S APPROACH
An unusually hot summer in West Virginia inspired Tom Kite's simple, patriotic approach for the matches held at The Greenbrier. While the team wore the boxers, they abandoned the ideas of sweatbands and bare chests.
1981: TEAM USA USES THEIR HEADS
In anticipation of the matches overseas, team stylist Missy McMullen designed this patriotic, functional headwear to stave off most English precipitation, while freeing up players' hands.

2004: TIGER EXPLORES HIS SEAL SIDE
In 2004, Tiger Woods' "Special Forces" obsession led him to demand Captain Hal Sutton outfit Team USA in Navy Seal Team VI Devgru uniforms. Players felt it was difficult to avoid player's lines while navigating the greens in IST F1 Rubber Rocket Diving Fins.
2008: TEAM USA GETS FRUGAL
In an effort to both combat the "recession" budget cuts, and simultaneously appease the host state, Captain Paul Azinger borrowed the U.S. Olympic equestrian team's uniforms. Team members deemed the uniforms too hot for Kentucky's heat, and the hooves restricted the thoroughbreds to cart-path only.
2010: TEAM USA'S RAIN SUITS
Corey Pavin's wife, Lisa, chose Team USA's raingear for the 2010 matches held at Celtic Manor in Wales. The garments struggled to repel moisture.
2012: MICHAEL JORDAN STEPS IN
As team advisor, Michael Jordan took it upon himself to mock-up his concept for the 2012 team's uniforms. Jordan touted that the uniform tank-tops would deliver consistent airflow, freer swings, and most importantly, higher swing planes.
