Tiger Woods didn't win the Wyndham Championship, but his mere presence reminded us he's still golf's biggest star -- and it's not even close

The crowds in Greensboro were HUGE. In fact, tournament officials had to print an extra 49,000 tickets the week of the tournament to accommodate all of the extra fans. And they were rowdy from the start as you can see by this reaction to Woods' holed flop shot on his opening hole of the week.

The TV ratings were huge as well. Friday's telecast was the most-watched Friday round on the Golf Channel since Woods' last win at the 2013 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. And ratings that day were up 234 percent from last year's second round at the Wyndham. The weekend was even better as Saturday's 3.2 rating on CBS matched what the network drew during the third round of the year's final major, the PGA Championship. Yep, you've still got it, Tiger.

Again, this level of interest was for the Wyndham Championship. No offense to this fine, historic tour stop, but when have we ever been this jazzed up about the Wyndham Championship?

And even the tournament volunteers got into the Tiger spirit by dressing like the 14-time major champ for Sunday's final round. Woods didn't close things out the way we're used to seeing -- dropping from T-2 to T-10 -- but everything else about the week reminded us nothing has changed when it comes to determining the game's top draw.
