After an extensive renovation, Donald Trump reopened Turnberry to the public. As Golf Digest's Geoff Shackelford discovered, it was a successful endeavor. But don't take our word for it. Here are 17 photos illustrating the retooled Turnberry:

The refurbished entrance to the property.
The new par-3 6th isn’t as tough as the Postage Stamp, but its no pushover either. Architect Martin Ebert hopes the hole never plays longer than 150 yards. The Firth of Clyde views from this tee are stunning.
The par-5 7th features new bunkering and the lighthouse looming in the distance.
View from the back tee at No. 10 reveals a cave and cool coastal rocks.

Formerly a par-5 that played a key role in every Open Turnberry has hosted, the 17th now can be played from different yardages and features a fairway bunker.
The view from the back tee on No 18, which now approaches the clubhouse and hotel on a direct line. The back tee is set on a dune overlooking the sea and should Turnberry host another Open, will create a scene of silhouetted golfers teeing off with the Ailsa Craig in the distance.
Ebert’s pitch and putt course redesign is loved by kids and adults. The setting could not be more dramatic.

The halfway house and lighthouse also features two suites for overnight lodging.
