South Korea’s Si Woo Kim, 21, became the newest member of the champions’ division of the PGA Tour youth movement by winning the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., by five strokes on Sunday.

Kim, who last month lost to Aaron Baddeley in a playoff at the Barbasol Championship, closed with a three-under par 67 to finish 72 holes at 21-under par 259. He led by six strokes going to the back nine, but bogeyed three of the first five holes on the back before regaining control.

Luke Donald finished second, while Hideki Matsuyama and Brandt Snedeker tied for third, six back.

On Saturday, Kim set a course record of 60 and narrowly missed a 50-foot putt for birdie on his last hole for 59.

Kim heretofore was best known for having qualified for the PGA Tour at 17, but was not eligible to join, according to PGA Tour rules, until he turned 18. He played in eight events after his 18th birthday that year and missed a cut in seven and withdrew from the eighth.
