Watch Jordan Spieth and his caddie discuss utensil choice in new SportsCenter ad

March 16, 2016

Jordan Spieth treats golf as a team sport, often replacing the pronoun I with we at post-round press conferences -- a nod to the importance of his caddie, Michael Greller. But in a new commercial for ESPN's SportsCenter, Spieth takes that reliance on his caddie to a whole new level.

In the ad, Spieth is about to dive into a delicious-looking bowl of mac & cheese, only he's unsure of which utensil to use. Luckily, Greller is right there to assist in the decision. Check out the funny clip:

That's SportsCenter anchor Stan Verrett copying Spieth's final choice at the end. Spying to see what club your opponent chooses is frowned upon in golf, but we'll let this slide.

Spieth's commercial is just the latest of fantastic SportsCenter ads that feature golfers. Among them, there's the one involving Bubba Watson and his caddie trying to negotiate an office corridor being blocked by the Stanford tree mascot -- an ode to his famous hooked wedge to win the 2012 Masters. And of course, nothing tops the one when Scott Van Pelt and the late Stuart Scott marvel at watching Arnold Palmer concoct an Arnold Palmer drink for himself in the cafeteria.

A shorter clip of the Spieth commercial ends with Spieth taking a bite, saying "nailed it," and giving Greller a pound. Now, the next time Jordan says "we were really in sync today" after a good round, it's going to be tough not to picture him chewing.
