It’s pre-spring, both meteorologically and fashionably. For us golf style nuts, this means a cult of drops, capsules, and launches from brands new and old. We’ve weeded through the exciting press releases and social media teasers to bring you 9 golf fashion news items we can’t stop thinking about. From a comedian’s foray into the golf world (with the help of style pro Tom Kim) via retro plaid, to the refreshingly minimalist takes from brands to watch like Public Drip, A. Putnam, Macade, and Students, here’s what you may have missed this month—especially if you (like us) have been caught up in Tiger season.

Students “Collection 012”

The street style-cool golf lifestyle brand launched its first accessory-forward capsule complete with wall hangings, water bottles, and beach towels. The archival jet ink posters are the highlight: Students’ edgy, skater-inspired catchphrases and one-of-a-kind artwork previously seen on the brand’s signature oversized tees can now grace your living room, bedroom, or bar, upping a sporty, contemporary feel.

Public Drip Spring/Summer 24 Pt. 1

Neil Tan’s uber cool fashion brand with a mission launched part one—so, more to come!—of its spring golf collection. Classic color palettes of forest green, navy, black, maroon, and white give this capsule its relaxed ease, matched with minimalist silhouettes and stylishly oversized cuts. Standouts include the corduroy bucket hat (a perfect marriage of two en vogue golf trends), the subtle graphic crewneck windbreaker, and the deceptively simple long sleeves with distinct Public Drip embroidery.

A.Putnam’s Clay Canyon Retreat Capsule

Founder Ali Putnam’s eponymous new line of chic resort and golf wear has dropped a collection of looks marked by sleek piping, accent hardware, and an elegant monochrome black-and-white palette. The trousers, button-downs, skirts, and polos can be mixed and matched, worn to the office, errands, museum date, night out, or, of course, fairways. All tested by Putnam herself, an avid golfer, entrepreneur, and mother-of-five.

FootJoy Collaborations

If you blinked, you probably missed the FootJoy x Metalwood Studio collaborative limited edition drop of the bestselling “Field LX” model, now sold out. Still available, however, is the FJ x OOFOS slide, a, dare we say, sexy approach to recovery thanks to cushiony foam technology and stark, sleek black silhouette. Also available in a perkier cobalt.

Atsuko Okatsuka’s Genesis Look ft. Campy Golf Ball Earrings

The brutal-smart and bubbly comedian is not a golfer, but she is a golf style icon—at least, as of last week. In hilarious promotional videos with Tom Kim, she sported her signature poppy-colored getups (after a rom-com-worthy montage with Kim trying to nail the perfect golf look) and the statement making golf ball earrings we’re obsessed with.

Macade’s Springtime Latest

For our next master class in memorable minimalism, Macade released its spring collection, a muted festival of dove, clove, and sand, with just a hint of sunshine blue, on the men’s side, and for women: meet raspberry. Rouge vests, rose sweaters, and blush skirts. For everyone, if you’re looking to update or reset your everyday golf shorts or trousers, this line’s for you. If you’re looking for fashionable takes on timeless golf staples, here are some pieces we love (with heavy emphasis on the script print—this season loves a statement monogram!).

J.Lindeberg Golf Spring/Summer 24

We’re always excited to see the Swedish brand’s contemporary, elevated take on Scandinavian sports style. Edgy and fashion-forward as always, the golf spring/summer release also has recognizable “JL” iconography, complete with geometric accents and a brisk, springy color palette of upscale neutrals.

From Instagram: BODE’s surprising golf moment

Thank you to my colleague Addie Parker for sharing this photo that she (and now I, and hopefully now you) can’t get out of her head. Below, some inspiration for your golf-spectating needs this Major season.

Extracurricular 12-Piece Spring Set in Collaboration with Fairway Styles and World Wide Golf

Modeled by ambassador Dustin Johnson (and on his fishing boat, no less), the capsule is a lesson in sartorial restraint. The laid back performance pieces for cool mornings and warm spring afternoons include a litany of pieces in soft technical fabrics, including a new-favorite go-to knit hoodie, versatile shorts, and upscale camo polos.
