Of all the angles in the golf swing, those you create at address are the most important. Unfortunately, many amateurs struggle with this static position as a result of being told to "keep your head down"— can cause you to slouch and can compromise the quality of your balance and motion throughout the swing. Standing tall and balanced is the foundation of an athletic posture. The body must be in position to turn back and through freely.

A good spine angle at address starts with setting your head correctly. Pulling in your chin slightly keeps the head in line with the spine, and encourages you to look at the ball at the correct angle. It sets the shoulder blades so your back stays straight. If it feels a little awkward at first, it's probably correct.
