Will Wilcox's next trip to No. 17 didn't go nearly as well...
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Will Wilcox was the darling of the Players on Friday thanks to making the first hole-in-one on No. 17 at TPC Sawgrass in 14 years. There were the countless interviews, the trip to the media center to share a few beers, and earning the top play of the day on ESPN SportsCenter. Well, it was fun while it lasted.
Less than 24 hours later, Wilcox suffered quite a reversal of fortune on golf's most famous par 3. This time, he dunked his tee shot into the water and made a double bogey, which was part of an opening 40 to fall near the bottom of the leader board on Saturday at the Players. Check out Wilcox's highlight -- and lowlight -- on No. 17:
It's OK, Will. We still love you for the beers.
