On the European Tour, it's 2010 already, as next season has begun with the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa. The quirk in the schedule is precipitated by the fact that it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere, allowing the European Tour to play four events in South Africa before moving on to the Middle East, India, Malaysia and Morocco, none of which are in Europe. That's another quirk of the European Tour schedule.
All of which makes this headline, on Ernie Els' participation in the Alfred Dunhill Championship, confusing: "Els has last chance for 2009 win."
Or is it a first chance for a 2010 win?
