Watch Tiger Woods make birdie on his opening hole of Day 2 in vintage Tiger Woods fashion

    December 02, 2016

Tiger Woods was frustrated with two double bogeys in his final three holes on Thursday. On Friday, neither that finish -- nor the fact that Woods was playing alone thanks to Justin Rose's WD -- seemed to affect the 14-time major champ as he teed off for his second competitive round in 15 months.

Woods birdied the opening hole -- and he did it in impressive fashion with a booming drive (and a smooth club twirl), a perfect wedge, and a smooth putt. Unfortunately, with Woods' early tee time after that opening 73 it wasn't televised, but PGA Tour provided video of the entire first hole on Facebook Live. Check it out:

Again, like those two eagles in Wednesday's pro-am, or the four under start on Thursday, we shouldn't jump to conclusions that Woods is "back!" Still, the more holes he plays like this, the more likely it becomes that Woods can make this latest comeback a successful one.
