U.S. Open: A family affair

June 09, 2009

University of Florida golfer Tyson Alexander qualified to play in the U.S. Open next week and will become the third generation of Alexanders to play in an Open.

Tyson's father, Buddy Alexander, the golf coach at Florida, was the 1986 U.S. Amateur champion and played in the U.S. Open twice. Tyson's grandfather, the late Skip Alexander, was a two-time Ryder Cup player who won three PGA Tour events and played in six U.S. Opens.
