U.S., Europe Palmer Cup teams named

Captain Matt Thurmond has a pretty strong American roster he will be taking with him to Denver's Cherry Hills CC this June for the 13th Palmer Cup matches as the U.S. tries to avenge its 14-10 defeat to the Europeans last year at Glasgow GC's Gailes Links.

The U.S. and European teams were named today (see rosters below). USC's Jamie Lovemark (2007) and Georgia's Adam Mitchell (2008) are making their second appearances in the event for the Americans; Jorge Campillo will be playing for the third time for Europe while Tim Sluiter makes his second start.

The Ryder Cup-style event will be held June 3-5 and is presented by Fisher Capital Partners. The U.S. has a 6-5-1 overall advantages in the annual matches.
