Apparently, Tiger Woods is taking his role as Ryder Cup vice captain very seriously. In a video interview with Sky Sports, U.S. captain Davis Love III said the 14-time major winner has already texted him a list of names he believes should be picked for the American squad that goes to Hazeltine.

"He's already picked his four," Love said in the interview. "I can't tell you who they are, but he knows who he wants to watch and who he wants to manage and who he'll get along with. I think Paul Azinger really showed us that breaking it down into small groups and having each group be responsible for themselves is kind of the way to go, and Tiger's all over that."

And it hasn't stopped there.

"He has texted me some pairings and some groupings and he's put a lot of thought into it," Love said. "He's kind of our tactician a little bit. He's a guy that's probably one of the most prepared when he shows up at a golf tournament."

The interview was conducted before the conclusion of the PGA Championship so we're not sure if what happened at Sunday at Baltusrol changed Woods' mind.

It's also funny to note that Love mentioned the U.S.'s top 25 players "are playing very, very well." It turns out he could have gone a little deeper on that list. Jimmy Walker arrived at Baltusrol at No. 29, but after his victory, he vaulted all the way up to No. 4, all but wrapping up his spot on a second consecutive team.

The top eight on the list after the Barclays, the first FedEx Cup Playoff event, later this month will automatically earn spots on the team. Love will then make three captain's picks following the BMW Championship, the third playoff event, and one final pick at the conclusion of the Tour Championship.

We caught up with Love at Baltusrol as well and he discussed the role of Woods, WAGs, his ping pong skills and Sammy the Squirrel. Have a listen:
