Tiger, Elin Expecting Another Child in Late-Winter
Tiger Woods announced today that he and his wife, Elin, are expecting their second child "in late-winter." The couple, whose daughter, Sam, is 14 months old, made the announcement on tigerwoods.com.
"Elin is feeling great and we are both thrilled," Woods wrote.
Woods underwent reconstructive surgery on his left knee in June, a week after his playoff victory over Rocco Mediate at the U.S. Open. Woods has begun his rehabilitation process, but he will not compete again until 2009.
"While my injury has been disappointing and frustrating, it has allowed me to spend a lot of time watching Sam grow," Woods said. "I can't begin to tell you how rewarding it is being a dad and spending time with her and Elin. The injury has been a blessing and a disappointment."
Last week, Woods was in Dubai to inspect a golf course he's designing that is scheduled for completion in 2009. After returning to the U.S., Woods stopped in New York to attend a New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game and to launch his new EA Sports video game: Tiger Woods PGA Tour '09. He also attended a VIP reception in New York that included U.S. Olympians and gold medalists Michael Phelps, Misty May-Treanor, Kerri Walsh and Bryan Clay, and appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
