This Olympics commercial involving Scott Langley and a famous soccer announcer is awesome
It's a bit of a stretch. A soccer announcer screaming about a goal doesn't seem to have much to do with golf returning to the Olympics after 112 years. And Scott Langley doesn't have anything to do with the U.S. team. But put it altogether and you've got a great commercial.
The idea comes from Michelob ULTRA, a proud supporter of Team USA. And it incorporates a real clip of Langley waiting for a putt to drop at the 2014 Memorial -- but with the animated voice of Nilson Cesar (Think: "GOOOOOOAAAAAALLL!!!!) narrating. Check it out:
That was actually the lone highlight from a final-round 79 that dropped Langley to T-28 that day. But it's a pretty cool one, made even cooler from Cesar's spirited call.
And others can get the same treatment for their own moments on the course with Michelob ULTRA inviting fans 21+ to share their best golf shot on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by using #ULTRAgolf.
Again, not sure what any of it has to do with the Olympics, but it's a fun commercial and a fun idea. That guy could make a tap-in sound exciting.
