This excited kid chasing Jason Day at the PGA will warm the coldest of hearts
No one has had more interaction with the fans at Baltusrol this week than Andrew "Beef" Johnston, but Jason Day had his own brush with the crowds on Friday evening -- and it produced the cutest moment of the 98th PGA Championship.
After an awful tee shot on No. 17 placed Day near the hospitality tents way left of the fairway, the Aussie slashed an aggressive recovery shot back to the fairway. The instant he made contact, Day got a hero's cheer and one young fan chased after him, running in front of the World No. 1 to get his attention. Day eventually noticed and gave him the high-five he badly wanted. Check it out:
Day wound up parring the hole, an acceptable result on the monster par 5, although probably a bit of a letdown for someone who had birdied seven of his previous nine holes to climb within two shots of the lead. Of course, if Day keeps that kind of play up over the weekend, there's a good chance he'll be celebrating with a different kid on Sunday evening.
