It's time to have the Scottie-Xander debate

For some, the argument is a simple one - 2 majors in a single year trumps 1 major. For others, it's a bit more nuanced than that.

That's the debate that will rage on for the rest of the PGA Tour season, as Xander Schauffele has now solidified himself as the only challenger to Scottie Scheffler in the Player of the Year race. Had anyone but Schauffele won on Sunday at Royal Troon, there would be no discussion. Once he went nuclear on the back nine to claim the claret jug, however, it became time time to have the conversation.
