The answer to playing from the weeds

It's pricy for what it does, $39.95 to evoke a few seconds of laughter from your playing partners, but hey, it's your money, not ours.

It's the Weed Whacking Driver from Hammacher Schlemmer. It loosely resembles a driver, but flip the sole off and underneath is a weed whacker for removing that pesky grass surrounding your ball in the rough.

Some tour players have been known simply to use a golf club to tap the grass down. Less conspicuous, though equally illegal. At least with the Weed Whacking Driver, everyone will know you're just having some fun and not really attempting to improve your lie.
