scheffler shank
That just happened! Watch Scottie Scheffler’s nasty shank from a bunker at East Lake
We have a developing situation. Scottie Scheffler’s once massive lead at the Tour Championship (7 shots) was down to two shots. The latest culprit, a bogey on a short par 4 after a shank out of the greenside bunker on the eighth hole.
Yes, a shank. See for yourself.
Scheffler was here from his tee shot on the 314-yard hole, shanked it over the back and failed to get up and down for par. Collin Morikawa, Scheffler’s closest pursuer, made birdie on the hole and moved to within two shots.
Of course, in perfect Scheffler fashion, he hit his approach shot on the following hole—the 236-yard par-3 ninth—to five feet and made birdie to move back to three.
Just a hole earlier, Scheffler blew his tee shot well left and nearly out of bounds, but he got a lucky break and made bogey.
At any rate, there’s more drama with nine holes remaining than it appeared before the round started.
