Save for later

Folks, stop us if you’ve heard this one before: Scottie Scheffler has won again. On Sunday at The American Express, the undisputed heavyweight champion of men’s golf rallied from a shot down to win by four in his first start of 2026. The victory was Scheffler’s 20th on the PGA Tour before the age of 30, putting him in some exceptionally rare air.

Over the past several seasons, Scheffler has seemed so inevitable and unflappable that he has resembled a robot—a veritable golf Terminator if you will. So much so that even Si Woo Kim, who began the day with a one-shot lead, had to crack a clanker joke after Scheffler surged past him for yet another win.

“Congrats Scottie Scheffler your 20th win,” Kim wrote on Instagram after playing in the final group with Scheffler and 18-year-old Blades Brown on Sunday. “Your better than AI, Siri, Chat GPT.”

The post was a funny show of sportsmanship from the South Korean, who faded during the final round, ultimately finishing T6. Despite Kim’s tough finish, we’re willing to bet most (human) golf fans agree with his sentiment:

AI = Bad. Scottie Scheffler = Very, very good.
