A host of golfers -- most notably, Jason Day, Adam Scott and Bubba Watson -- are heading to Augusta National on a hot streak. Add Dustin Johnson to the list.
Following a so-so start to the season, Johnson has turned it on, finishing fourth at Riviera, 14th at Doral and reaching the Match Play quarterfinals. DJ continued this success at the first round of the Shell Houston Open, making seven birdies and an eagle on Thursday:
The 31-year-old's scorecard wasn't flawless, as he encountered two bogeys on the afternoon. Still, Johnson's 65 was good for the early lead at Redstone Golf Club in Humble, Texas.
Johnson's history at Houston has been a mixed bag: He finished t-4 in 2013, but withdrew in 2014 following a first-round 80 and missed the cut in two other appearances. He shares the lead with Robert Castro, who carded a bogey-free 65 in the morning.
