Saturday play starts under clear skies

NEWPORT, Wales -- On a brisk, but clear morning at Celtic Manor, the opening four-ball session began as scheduled at 8 a.m, with the Americans still ahead in two matches, square in one, and trailing in a fourth.

If the current weather pattern holds, there won't be much need for rain suits -- mixed news when you consider the lavender cardigan sweaters they'll be subjecting the world to instead.
