Saturday Afternoon's Pairings

SUGAR GROVE, Ill.-- The pairings for the afternoon foursomes were just handed out to the media, and as many of us had suspected, there's trouble brewing in the European team room.Â

Laura Davies, who hasn't played since Friday morning's fourball, won't be teeing it up this afternoon either. Last night, team captain Alison Nicholas made it sound as if Davies had expressed a desire to sit out yesterday's foursomes because she was "struggling" with her game. But word around Rich Harvest Farms is that Davies isn't happy about sitting out any matches at all.Â

An unhappy Davies is not a good thing for the Europeans leading in to Sunday's singles.

Here is the Saturday foursomes line-up:

MATCH 13 (1:45 tee time CDT): Janice Moodie and Sophie Gustafson (Eur.) vs. Paula Creamer and Juli Inkster (USA)

MATCH 14: Helen Alfredsson and Suzann Pettersen (Eur.) vs. Kristy McPhearson and Morgan Pressel (USA)

MATCH 15: Becky Brewerton and Gwladys Nocera (Eur.) vs. Natalie Gulbis and Christina Kim (USA)

MATCH 16: Anna Nordquist and Maria Hjorth (Eur.) vs. Cristie Kerr and Michelle Wie (USA)

There are more potential plotlines in this lineup than in a Quentin Tarantino movie. It should be an interesting afternoon.
