Sam Darnold slinging dimes on the beach is exactly what Jets fans need right now

On Monday, we attempted to get you up to speed on the never-ending Jamal Adams saga. The latest chapter featured the New York Jets’ All-Pro safety telling a fan that he was “trying” to be traded to the Dallas Cowboys. It’s unlikely considering he’s still under contract, but Adams is still doing everything in his power to make it clear that he wants out of NY.

Which is a shame, because he was one of the few players that the Jets have hit on in the NFL Draft in quite some time. It’s the type of player you want to remain on the team for life, but that seems out of the question now. For Jets fans, that has to be depressing.

But fear not, Gang Green faithful, another player the Jets drafted and hope to hang on to for a long time is here to bring a big ol’ smile to your face. That player is, of course, quarterback Sam Darnold, who was filmed slinging dimes all over a California beach this week:

Oh yes, that’s the good stuff. “How about that FOOTWORK,” said hundreds of amateur QB whisperers in the replies. More! MORE!!

Despite an up-and-down first two seasons, which included a case of mono and the infamous “seeing ghosts” game, the upside for the former USC Trojan remains very high. Jets fans desperately need something to be excited about these days, and a full, competent 16 games from Darnold would hit the spot in 2020. Of course, sports are going to be re-canceled any day now, so this excitement over these Sammy D videos will be fleeting.

Darnold wasn’t the only one getting work in. He was joined by Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Washington Redskins quarterback Kyle Allen and …. Mark Sanchez?!?!

The Sanchize making a comeback is exactly what 2020 needs right now.
