Rickie Fowler will wear a recyclable cap at the Waste Management

January 31, 2018

Sure, the Waste Management Phoenix Open offers a fun party vibe that comes across as wild and out of control, but there's an underlying message at the tournament that revolves around recycling and leaving a smaller footprint. Rickie's about to capitalize on that message.

On Thursday at TPC Scottsdale, Rickie will wear a white Puma "P" cap constructed purely from recycled materials. More specifically, the cap is made from a recycled polyester blend that is designed to maintain performance characteristics, breathability and comfort. And on Saturday, Rickie will wear the white cap from hole nos. 1 through 15, then switch to a green cap on the 16th tee (the crowd will go NUTS) and will stay in it through the duration of his round.

Puma Golf came up with the idea and pitched the Waste Management team. They loved it, and Rickie was immediately on board. That should come as no surprise—the 29-year-old loves letting his apparel make a loud statement.
