PGA Tour: Matt Kuchar tied for lead, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day five back at the Memorial

Matt Kuchar, winner of the 2013 Memorial Tournament, is tied for the lead with Brendan Steele at 12-under following a six-under 66 in the second round at Muirfield Village Golf Club. They lead Emiliano Grillo and Gary Woodland by a stroke.

"I've been in some great form," said Kuchar. "The course is in fantastic shape. It's as easy at this place as I remember ever seeing it, even though the greens are still fast. You can get in the wrong spot, but you don't have to worry too much about the wind. It's fun to be out there playing and making some birdies around this place."

First-round leader Dustin Johnson shot a one-under 71 on Friday. He was two under for the round until a double bogey on 14. At nine under, he is tied for fifth with Harold Varner III, Jon Curran and Kevin Streelman, and four strokes off the lead.

Rory McIlroy climbed up the leader board on Friday, shooting a six-under 66. He is at seven under through 36 holes, and five off the lead.

Jason Day was only able to shoot one-under 71, also moving to seven under for the tournament. He is tied for 12th with McIlroy and Phil Mickelson.

Jordan Spieth shot four-under 68, moving to six under. He is tied for 22nd, and six shots off the lead.

The 36-hole cutline was set at two under, eliminating Rickie Fowler (even par), Hideki Matsuyama (three over) and Justin Thomas (10 over).
