PGA Championship: Mickelson shoots 68
Phil Mickelson made a modest move up the leader board after narrowly making the cut at the PGA Championship, shooting a two-under par 68 early Saturday morning at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield. N.J.
He was eight strokes off the lead at one under, and tied for 43rd with Brandt Snedeker and Bill Haas.
Masters champion Danny Willett struggled and was three over through 16 holes. He was tied with Lee Westwood for 81st place.
For the most part, though, moving day has yielded low scores, with 14 players turning in scorecards of even-par 70 or better.
Bubba Watson and Russell Knox each were three under through their first 10 holes. They were just six shots back and had moved 35 spots up the leader board from Friday.
Padraig Harrington, Justin Rose and Charl Schwartzel had the best scores of the round early, each shooting four-under 66s. The latter two climbed 44 spots up the leader board and were tied with Kevin Kisner for 26th place.
Leaders Jimmy Walker and Robert Streb (nine under) will tee off at 2:55 p.m. EST. Jason Day and Emiliano Grillo, just two strokes back, will start at 2:45 p.m. EST.
