PGA Championship: Kenny Perry Listed as Questionable
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The Golf Channel reported last night that Kenny Perry suffered a scratched cornea late Tuesday while taking out a contact lens and was questionable to start the PGA Championship today.
Perry, who has undergone a pair of Lasik surgeries, said one doctor advised him not to wear contacts for at least a week, but added he can't wear glasses because of depth-perception problems.
"It's killing me right now," Perry told Golf Channel. "But I think I'll be fine tomorrow."
Perry has some time. He isn't scheduled to tee off until 2:05 p.m. in a group with Justin Rose and Retief Goosen. If Perry can't go, it will mean he will have played in none of the four major championships in 2008 and only one of the last eight (he played in only the PGA last year). It also would be the first time since 1987--Perry's first full year on the PGA Tour--that he did not play in a major.
