PGA Championship 2025: Watch Scottie Scheffler get incredibly lucky bounce off tree
If the World No. 1 winds up winning a third career major on Sunday, he might have one of his worst shots of the week to thank.
Scottie Scheffler had clawed his way to the top of the leaderboard at the PGA Championship on Saturday when he arrived at the drivable par-4 eighth hole at Quail Hollow. But Scheffler's normally reliable cut turned into a big slice, heading right into a thicket of trees and possibly out of play.
But unlike last year at the PGA when Scheffler wound up in actual jail, this time he was able to avoid it on the course thanks to an incredibly lucky bounce. See for yourself:
Scheffler didn't take full advantage of the break, hitting a solid pitch and missing a nine-footer for birdie. Still, the tree-aided par kept him with a share of the lead.
They always say it's better to be lucky than good. But being both is even better.
