PGA Championship 2024: Sebastian Soderberg makes first hole-in-one of the week at Valhalla
Amid all the rain—and chaos—on Friday morning at the PGA Championship, there was still some golf being played. And some good golf at that. But the highlight of the week (thus far) comes from a guy making his tournament debut.
That would be Sebastian Soderberg, a 33-year-Swede with one DP World Tour title under his belt. Now he can also add a hole-in-one at a major championship to his resume.
Playing the par-3 eighth hole at Valhalla during the second round, Soderberg jarred one from 169 yards in front of 2002 PGA champ Rich Beem. Have a look:
The ace moved Soderberg back to even par for the week after starting the tournament with a 73. Soderberg has played in two U.S. Opens previously, missing the cut in 2016 and finishing T-53 in 2022.
Anyway, congrats to Sebastian. And congrats to all the gamblers that bet YES on there being a hole-in-one this week.
