Pat Perez announces season-ending surgery with Instagram post
Pat Perez took to Instagram on Tuesday to let his fans know he's out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery for a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
This, just two days after the social-media-friendly tour pro posted this photo of him shopping at Costco:
Coincidence? Despite the heavy items at the warehouse store, it does in fact seem like this was a coincidence. Perez knew something was up when he got off to an unusually rough start to the 2015-'16 PGA Tour campaign, in particular on the West Coast Swing where he's thrived in the past, including picking up his lone tour win at the 2009 Bob Hope Classic.
Perez has made more than $17 million in on-course earnings during his 15 seasons on tour, but he had missed cuts in eight of 11 starts so far in 2015-'16 with his best finish being a T-41 at Pebble Beach. We wish you a speedy recovery, Pat.
