Nike debuts Father's Day balls at Oakmont, as well as a special design for Rory McIlroy
OAKMONT, Pa. -- Sunday at the U.S. Open doubles as Father's Day. And just in case the players at Oakmont Country Club forget, Nike has provided them with a reminder on their golf balls.
The Swoosh is debuting holiday-themed golf balls in Pittsburgh this week, with many of their athletes partaking in the fun:
The "BK" is for Brooks Koepka's dad, Bob; Charl Schwartzel nods to his father George; "Lex" refers to Paul Casey's son.
Noticeably absent from this list is Rory McIlroy. And for good reason, as Rory has a different message on his ball mark:
This isn't the first time Nike has provided colors to their line, producing similar Augusta-themed balls at the Masters this year. The company now offers the ability to purchase either the RZN Tour Black, Platinum or dot Platinum with a colored Swoosh as well as customization for the player number on the ball on their website.
