Fans hoping to see Tiger Woods make his return to the PGA Tour this week were disappointed after the 14-time major champion announced on Monday that he would withdraw from the Safeway Open.

The one person with a right to be excited about the news? Max Homa, the young tour pro who entered the week as first alternate in Napa. Tiger's WD meant that Homa was in.

Homa, who, like many of his contemporaries, grew up as a big Tiger Woods fan, summed up his mood with a fitting tweet.

For someone like Homa, with limited status on tour this year, and with Northern California roots, getting a spot in the Napa tournament is huge. Though fans and Safeway Open tournament directors won't be as excited as Homa, they can appreciate the good sense of humor the youngster showed.
