Masters Fever

Masters 2025: Texas A&M baseball breaks out the green jacket for Masters-themed grand-slam celly

April 11, 2025

There’s a contagion sweeping the nation. Don’t worry, it’s not another one of those. It’s just Masters fever—a 96-hour swoon that has men and women across the world calling out of work, crashing on the couch and drinking plenty of fluids (yes, we mean beer).

The virus has also had peculiar effects on other athletes, including those in College Station, where the Texas A&M baseball team came down with a bad case of Masters-itis on Thursday. Take it away, fellas.

You love to see it, especially if you’re an Aggies fan. The trademark Masters moment came after a third-inning grand slam by Blake Binderup, which gave Texas A&M a 6-3 lead over SEC rival South Carolina. The green jacket then made a triumphant reutrn in the bottom of the 10th inning after Caden Sorrell blasted an opposite-field nuke to walk it off 8-7.

The win was the Aggies’ fourth in a row and keeps them alive in the postseason hunt. It’s still a long shot, but with the magic of the Masters behind them, anything is possible.
