Not Smart!

Man who said he was playing golf in hurricane because he couldn't resist 'SUPER HOT DEAL' was actually pranking his friend

October 10, 2024

It goes without saying that we are thinking of all the folks affected by both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, and we hope and pray as many people as possible made it out safely. It is no laughing matter. However, you do have to laugh at the stupidity of some folks who try to take on Mother Nature during a time like this.

Case in point, this dude who, apparently, played golf in Orlando, Fla., earlier this week during Hurricane Milton. Fortunately, Orlando was not hit nearly as badly as many other parts of Florida, but the weather was still dangerous enough for the city to activate the Emrgency Operations Center to a level 1 "full activation" in the aftermath on Wednesday.

But that didn't stop our boy Mario here for booking a tee time on Tuesday and asking his friends if they wanted to join. Mario's friends, who have functioning brains, told him absolutely not, and even implored him to not go because there would be "tropical winds." As Mario argued, though, it was a "SUPER HOT DEAL," $5 for 18 holes. Who can resist a SUPER HOT DEAL??

As you can see Mario's other buddy point out, "honestly, it's a genius move because now he'll get a free teatime pass due to round being canceled." See that everybody? Mario's playing chess, not checkers.

Sounds like he got in at least three holes, and hopefully he did survive and get the free round for cancellation.

UPDATE: Turns out Mario pulled off the perfect prank on his buddies (and on us):
