This video of Kawhi Leonard completely unmoved by a Clippers dance party might be the most Kawhi moment ever
The joke is, of course, that Kawhi Leonard—MVP, NBA champ, all-round basketball machine—is a robot. You’ve heard it a thousand times in a thousand ways. There’s the physics-defying grip. There’s the kinship with his fellow machines. There’s his human simulation laugh and exactly one display of emotion in his 10-year NBA career. He’s obviously not a robot. We know this. But in fairness to the conspiracy theorists, Leonard didn’t give his homosapien credentials a boost on Tuesday, when he was seen reacting to an impromptu dance party on the Clippers bench like this:
Honestly, if you’re a Clippers fan, this is the stuff you want to see. While the rest of the perennially pathetic franchise celebrated a regular-season win over the Washington Wizards like they just took down Bill Russell’s Celtics, Leonard kept calm and carried on, knowing from experience that this stuff doesn’t matter until April at the earliest. Well, either that or he’s a mechanized war machine with a malfunctioning emotion emitter, but we already covered that above.
So here’s hoping “Playoff P” is taking notes. No one is asking him to get microchip implants or a prefrontal lobotomy, but moonwalking is a privilege not a right, and you have to earn that privilege. But don’t take our word for it, just ask the Terminator.
