Just wondering...
Will an LPGA constituency that once seemed openly to disdain Michelle Wie be rooting for her to finally deliver on her potential now that she's a full-fledged member?
It should. Whatever other players might think of her, it's in the LPGA's best interests that she becomes a star, given the attention she brings generally and the influence she still wields in Asia. In a tough economy that threatens to undermine the LPGA, the tour would be appreciably better off with her in a starring turn than a supporting role.
The LPGA could use a transcendent star as a lure to help hook elusive sponsors. Her career missteps notwithstanding, Wie remains its best hope.
