Here’s the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2026 Puerto Rico Open

At the beginning of the week Ricky Castillo wanted to be in Florida. Specifically, at Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. That’s where the best players in the world were competing and the 24-year-old from California was disappointed he didn’t qualify for the signature event.
A few days later, he captured his first PGA Tour title in Puerto Rico. Following a fifth-place finish last week at the Cognizant Classic, the University of Florida product shot a calm Sunday 67 to end the week at 17-under 271 to win the Puerto Rico Open at Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande. He topped Chandler Blanchet by a shot and 18-year-old Blades Brown by three. Brown made a costly triple bogey on the 13th hole that dropped him from the top of the leaderboard.
“It's really to cool to put into words to be able to win my first event,” Castillo said. “I felt like I wanted to be in Bay Hill and I decided to just come out here and play this and ended up winning, so it all works out in the end. Surreal week.”
The final round started without many fireworks, until Castillo made an eagle on the sixth hole and followed it with a birdie. More birdies at 13 and 14, while Brown imploded, helped him win with only pars on the last four holes. Blanchet birdied the last to get within a shot with Castillo having to play one more hole.
Brown, 18, was in position to become the youngest PGA Tour winner in modern history. He was battling with Castillo early in the back nine when he hit his second shot on the par-4 13th hole into the water from a fairway bunker. He was five under par on the day and playing some of the best golf on the course until the mishap ended with the triple bogey. He birdied the last to shoot 69 and earn a solo third-place finish.
Castillo earned $720,000 from the overall $4 million purse. He was already in the Players Championship field via his FedEx Cup ranking. So he’ll be heading back to Florida after all, but it’ll be as a PGA Tour winner.
“I really just stayed focused and just did what I've been trying to do for the past six or seven months,” he said. “Just really work hard on my mental and emotional game and that's been a really huge thing for me. It really showed this week.”
