The tournament was only in its second year, yet the FM Championship has already become popular among the LPGA’s marquee-ranked players. Of the top 25 players in the Rolex Women’s Rankings, 21 were competing this week at TPC Boston in Norton, Mass., including World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul and World No. 2 Nelly Korda.

Mind you, there was a pretty strong financial incentive to playing in this week’s event. The overall prize money payout of $4.1 million is the largest of any event outside the five majors and the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship. With all the big names in New England it was 26-year-old rookie Miranda Wang, ranked No. 187 in the world, who walked away with the title and the $615,000 check. She was able to outlast hard-charging Thitikul, who shot 67. Wang ended at 20-under-par 268 for her first LPGA victory.

With Wang winning, another streak continued. That now means that there hasn't been a repeat winner all year. Yes, 24 different winners in 23 events, including a two-person team championship. It's an LPGA record. Wang, who played collegiately at Duke and helped the Blue Devils win the NCAA Championship in 2019, is the third player from China to win on the LPGA.

The tour now has a week off before picking back up in Cincinnati at the Kroger Queen City Championship.

Here is the rundown of what each player earned this week who made the cut.

Gil Hanse's team completed renovation on the 12th and 13th holes at TPC Boston in 2017, completing a 10-plus-year project in which Hanse's team attempted to reestablish a New England-type style to the course. The course, which sits about 45 minutes from downtown Boston, was the longtime host of a FedEx Cup Playoff event on the PGA Tour.
