Harrington to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style
PALM HARBOR, Fla. -- Irishman Padraig Harrington is about to have a St. Patrick's Day to remember. He's flying today to Washington D.C. to meet President Barack Obama (or maybe O'Bama today and today only) and present him with a set of golf clubs as part of the President's St. Patrick's Day festivities. Then he will fly back to Florida in time for his 1:12 p.m. tee time on Thursday in the first round of the Transitions Championship in Palm Harbor.
"I'm part of a contingent of people from Ireland who are meeting the President," said Harrington, who arrived at the tournament on Tuesday to play a practice round. "I'm very excited about the trip, but also relieved I have an afternoon tee time tomorrow."
