Hunsinger named new president and publisher of Golf Digest Companies

The following announcement was made on Friday by Charles H. Townsend, CEO of Condé Nast, Golf Digest's parent company:

New York, NY, September 16, 2011 -- Peter King Hunsinger has been named President and Publisher of the Golf Digest Companies, it was announced today by Charles H. Townsend, CEO of Condé Nast. Thomas J. Bair, Vice President and Publishing Director of Golf Digest and Golf World, and Laura Sequenzia, Publisher of Golf World, will report to Hunsinger. The appointment is effective immediately.

"Pete will partner with Jerry Tarde, longtime Golf Digest Companies Editorial Director, to lead these extraordinary brands into new areas and onto new platforms," said Mr. Townsend. "Pete's track record for success at Condé Nast is tremendous and I'm confident this will be a great role for him."

Hunsinger will oversee all sales and marketing of Golf Digest, golfdigest.com, as well as Golf World and all of the brands' digital, online and mobile properties. Golf Digest has 30 international editions and is the 11th largest magazine in the world and the world's largest sports magazine. Golf World is the nation's oldest and most widely read newsweekly golf magazine.

Hunsinger comes to the Golf Digest Companies from GQ, where he has been vice president and publisher since July 2003. Under his leadership, GQ has reported record advertising pages and revenue while elevating its already-iconic brand. Hunsinger propelled the GQ brand forward, as the magazine launched the first-ever Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) certified digital edition for the iPhone in December 2009 and iPad in April 2010.

Hunsinger came to GQ from the Condé Nast Bridal Group, where he was President. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Condé Nast. He also served as VP/Publisher of Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest and Gourmet.
