Gift that keeps giving: Rickie Fowler ace earns another million for charity

March 11, 2016

You've likely seen Rickie Fowler's hole-in-one from earlier this week, the ace which netted Ernie Els' "Els for Autism" charity $1 million:

"He's my hero," Els told Golfweek.

But it looks like Fowler's shot is not done delivering.

Johann Rupert, a South African billionaire and friend of Els, saw Fowler's performance and decided to match the $1 million donation.

According to Els, the charity event this Monday raised more than $800,000 before the Fowler hole-in-one. Coupled with the contributions of Fowler and Rupert, Els' foundation now has enough money to build a new autism facility in Jupiter, Fla.

"It's like a miracle,'' Els said to ESPN.
