The gambler behind this incredible three-golfer parlay had a better Sunday than you

August 31, 2020

Picking winners in golf these days is tough. Well, actually, we here at Golf Digest tend to do it pretty frequently—either through our weekly Be Right podcast or expert picks. But excuse us while we quickly pat ourselves on the backs. In general, it's tough. Very tough.

Which is what made what one mystery gambler pulled off over the weekend even more impressive.

If this betting slip is real—and we're not sure what would motivate anyone to make up such a thing—then this person successfully picked the winners of the PGA Tour's BMW Championship, the European Tour's ISPS HANDA UK Championship, and the Korn Ferry Tour Championship.

Even better? The mystery gambler genius PARLAYED all three into a gigantic payout. Have a look:

Brandon Wu at the Korn Ferry Tour? Check. Rasmus Hojgaard in the UK? Check. And finally, Jon Rahm at Olympia Fields? Check, thanks to an incredible finish. (We're guessing this person wasn't too thrilled when Dustin Johnson drained that 40-footer to get into a playoff!)

Put it altogether and a wager of 6 Euros or a little over $7 netted someone nearly 22 GRAND. Not bad for a day's work. Even if it was a long day of watching golf.

In case you're not great at math, even with playing three of the favorites to win those respective events, the parlay paid about 3,047-to-1 odds. It's not quite the 8,500-to-1 odds a different mystery gambler got on a different parlay involving Rahm last year, but still, pretty darn impressive.

And if this was you're betting slip and you're reading this right now, give us a shout. We'd love to hear your thoughts on all of this weekend's tournaments. . .
