FootJoy enters the golf apparel market

FootJoy, one of the most respected names in golf footwear, has announced that it has entered the apparel market, a move that should be enthusiastically welcomed by both the industry and the consumer.

Having had an opportunity to see the product first hand, I can attest to the fact that FootJoy has done its homework and has created a classic mainstream offering. In addition to shirts, it also will feature a sweater line.

The fit will be conservative and reflective of the current customer preference. I hope they will develop an athletic fit in the future as they expand the line.

Steve Stricker is wearing the line on the PGA Tour. Look for additional Titleist staff players to follow suit, as the FootJoy line of apparel now provides Acushnet an opportunity to outfit its equipment staffers from head to toe.
