Play Winged Foot, Peachtree, Merion or Kiawah and raise money for a worthy cause
It’s already September, which unfortunately means your opportunities to play golf in 2025 are starting to dwindle, at least if you live in the north. If you’re in an always-sunny locale, bully for you, and please scroll on.
With limited time to tee off left, don’t you think you should go all out? Plus why not so do while also helping kids and teens in the Greater Charleston (S.C.) area! It’s a no-lose situation. Spend some money (before you can’t spend any money on golf) and take on some of the best courses in the world … while also improving the lives of future generations.
This First Tee silent auction runs through Sept. 5 (around 9 p.m.) and features a bounty of treasures from tee times at Winged Foot, Peachtree, Merion and Kiawah to limited-edition golf clubs to four Trophy Club passes to next year’s U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. Keep a lookout, too, because new courses have been added, such as Chicago Golf Club, Lake Merced and Broomsedge, all now up for grabs.
First Tee is renowned for empowering youngsters and “teaching core values and interpersonal skills through the game of golf.” This money is critical in keeping the good ship afloat and helping more and more kids—plus, you can get some once-in-a-lifetime golf out of it. The First Tee programs run the gamut from kids building character on the course to assisting local educators in helping elementary and middle-school students with social-emotional learning (SEL) skills.
If you’re interested, check out the auction page, which also features impact items like providing transportation for groups to access the golf course for a season to funding entire schools.
We all can use some positive karma on the course, and this is as good as it can possibly get. It’s an incredible opportunity for these kids and a great chance for you to take on Winged Foot with the wind at your back.
